Who we are
The United Nations Young Professionals (UNYP) is a student-led organization committed to advancing and supporting selected United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and initiatives associated with the UN Foundation's "Our Future Agenda." The organization prioritizes efforts related to Climate Action, Peace, Justice, & Strong Institutions, and Quality Education. UNYP pursues these goals on global, national, and local levels through policy advocacy.
The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) comprise 17 points of the United Nations’ call to action, promoting a more just and equitable world. The UN adopted its 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in 2015, laying out these interconnected goals for global advancement. UNYP focuses on three of these points, SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and SDG 4 (Quality Education) to define a clear mission while remaining well-rounded. UNYP is comprised of three committees, each designated to one of these three SDGs. All members are part of one of these committees and contribute to planning events related to our mission, thereby advancing the goals of their SDG locally, nationally, and globally.
